Let's Get Tropical

Well, hello everyone! This is the first posting of the only blog dedicated to the greatest dining hall of all time, Morrow House Dining Hall. I hope you enjoy it.

Tonight, to everyone's surprise, was Bermuda Theme Night. Now, I don't know about you, but when I hear of a Bermuda-Themed anything, I get really excited. Sand between your toes, sweet smell of the salty ocean, sweaty tourists with fanny-packs and sunburns--nothing more I need in the world, except maybe a Pina Colada with a little umbrella and an entertaining book to keep me occupied. And some sun-screen. And some sweet native music. But that's it.

First course: Bermuda Fish Chowder.

Leave it to Joanna to ask the questions everyone else is afraid to ask: What is a Bermuda Fish?

No, no...the chowder did not contain a Bermuda Fish. There actually is no such thing as a Bermuda Fish, as far as this Classics major is concerned. But since the Marine Bio major (Joanna) was questioning as well, it is safe to assume it is not a real animal.

Anyway. Chowder=yum.

Next course: Caribbean Chicken and Caribbean Rice & Beans

Yumz. I didn't eat the chicken, but I heard it was nomz.

Rice and beans were pretty sticky, but also pretty yum. Have yet to figure out the spice used. Cumin? Paprika? Who knows.

Best course: CORN FRITTERZ

OMMNOMMMMMM

Fried corn. Who could ask for more?

Dessert: Floribbean Pound Cake

Didn't have any, and still confused by the name. Floribbean? You mean Floriddean? No, sorry, Florida is in the Caribbean now. Suck it, Florida. Youz been moved.

The Juke didn't get turned on till late. Twas too quiet.

That's all for now. Until next time, om-nomz-nom-om-nom-nom.

  2. I'm sorry Hillary, but Brinner updates will be posted on Wednesday, as Brinner is only on Wednesday nights. Take a moment from your busy Secretary of State agenda to look at Smith 2eat. It's imperative to national security.
